Economic Podcast
Marketing Campaign
I led the marketing for a new economic podcast for a client. This is a brand new podcast discussing some of the less-conventional economic ieads.
During the whole project, we faced multiple challenges such as an initially skeptical audience due to the unconventional topics, limited brand recognition, and collaboration issues with the client’s in-house social media team who were struggling to effectively promote the podcast on their platforms.
By utilising email marketing, securing high-profile guests and leveraging their audience, producing high-quality video and audio content, we achieved over 40 monthly downloads on Buzzsprout during the launch phase, far surpassing average new podcast performance.
This project demonstrated my expertise in handling challenges using creative problem solving skills, liaising with difficult collaborators, and multi-faciated marketing expertises.

Branded visual identity
To overcome the challenge of this podcast being a new and unrecognised brand, I focused on creating polished, engaging branded visuals for the podcast. This ensures that the new podcast had a cohesive visual identity that resonated with the target audience, ensuring that all promotional materials were professional and appealing.

High-profile guest cross promotion
Together with the media team, we utilised digital communication strategies to invite high-profile guests with established audiences. Collaborating with these guests' social media teams helped us leverage their followers for a broader reach. This cross-promotion was crucial in validating the podcast and attracting listeners.

Email Marketing
With permission to manage email newsletters, we fully utilized email marketing channel to promote the podcast. Leveraging an extensive high-loyalty email list from previous projects, I crafted compelling newsletters that highlighted episode topics, guest appearances, and provided value-providing content. This approach ensured that we kept our audience engaged and informed.

Video/Audio clips
Understanding the importance of short form video content in social media, I developed highly engaging short clips from the podcast using tools like Descript and GetAudiogram.com. These clips served as teasers that generated interest and encouraged listeners to check out full episodes. They were sent to both the client and the guests’ social media teams.
